| Since 1996, Culinary Academy
of Long Island has trained students to become leaders
in the culinary arts industry. Students prepare for successful
careers in commercial cooking, professional cooking, or restaurant
management in nine months or less, and an exciting internship
is part of every program. Expert instructors provide personal
attention to each student in small class sizes. Facilities include
modern kitchens boasting state-of-the-art equipment to emphasize
the school’s “learning by doing” approach.
Programs: CALI offers three programs leading
to a Certificate of Graduation, and each includes a valuable
internship:
- Professional Cooking: Daylight program emphasizing practical
food preparation
- Commercial Cooking: An evening program aimed at the non-traditional
student
- Restaurant Management: Offers both morning and evening
classes in management
Location: Culinary Academy of Long Island
is located at 125 Michael Drive in Syosset, New York. Culinary
Academy also has a campus in Manhattan at 154 West 14th Street.
Admissions: A friendly admissions staff is
waiting to answer questions and help prospective students start
the enrollment process.
Financial Aid: CALI offers financial aid through
federal programs such as Stafford, PLUS, and FFEL loans. Applicants
are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible.
Career Services: All programs at CALI include
career sessions that teach students resume writing, interview
skills, and hiring procedures. Upon graduation or at any point
in the future, Career Services will provide job placement and
matching assistance.
This institution has received approval to operate
from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education,
in order to enable the Bureau to conduct a qualitative review
and assessment of the institution after it becomes operational.
